The wedding industry has become a multi-million dollar internet industry. With the implementation of so many tools online for brides to use, a couple’s options have become limitless and plans can be formed with greater ease. There are several tools online available that a bride should become familiar with which will give any bride a sense of control over her upcoming event.

First, when planning your big day, you may consider using a site with an overall planning tool. These tools offer you the opportunity to plan everything from the seating assignments, budgets, and guest lists, to task managers to keep you on schedule, vendor management and gift registries. Using one of these websites to plan your wedding from beginning to end can really help you plan the exact wedding you have envisioned. And using these tools may provide more options that you may not have considered simply because you were not aware of them. Most of these types of sites offer lists of different vendors that are local to you or to your destination. There are even wedding sites that offer ideas for off-beat or non-traditional ceremonies.

Many sites also allow you to register with local (and non-local) merchants without having to leave your home. Talk about a time-saver! Imagine sitting at your computer shopping online for your registries. That’s all you need to do. Many of these sites are partners with many of your favorite stores, which makes your registry available at your fingertips. One other option is to register for a honeymoon and have people put money towards the cost. This is a great option if you don’t have enough money to pay for your own honeymoon. You simply register for the vacation and your guests can contribute to the cost online. It’s amazing.

Most of the bridal tool sites offer a couple the opportunity to build a wedding website. You can announce your wedding, have people sign your guest log, communicate with guests before and after the event, and post pictures from the day right on the website. These are fun for the bride and groom and allow the happy couple to share their big day easily.

These days, life moves at the speed of light. It’s hard to fit in time to plan such a huge event without a professional planner. But, with today’s amazing technology, planning your wedding can be a lot simpler. The bridal tools that are out there are so effective it’s like having your own personal wedding planner available to you any time of the day or night. Happy planning!

Kiawah Island is a small island stretching 13.5 miles along the eastern coast, 2.4 of which is actually water. This tiny island, just 21 miles from Charleston, is a veritable paradise with beautiful, temperate year-round weather and a natural state of existence. If you are planning a wedding on the beach, Kiawah Island is a premier romantic destination.

The Tourist Attraction

This town is home to five highly-acclaimed golf courses designed by top PGA stars including The Ocean Golf Course, featured in the movie The Legend of Bagger Vance starring Will Smith, and the luxurious Kiawah Island Golf Resort Course. Kiawah Island has become a major tourist site with award-winning courses along with their spacious villa rentals. If pristine beaches, resorts and world class golf sound appealing, that is Kiawah Island.

Romance and Nature

Kiawah Island was judged the “Second Most Romantic Beach in America” by the National Geographic Traveler magazine. You would be hard pressed to find a better location for a romantic, intimate beach wedding than Kiawah Island. Unlike other beaches and islands, Kiawah Island was designed with nature in mind. Home to many indigenous animals like alligators, sea turtles, bobcats and dolphins, the island maintains a true island feel that embraces its natural state. Buildings that tower over the treetops are not what you will find here. For the perfect island wedding, choose between the beach or the lawn at the Sanctuary Hotel located at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

The Details

When choosing your venue, you may want to begin your research with the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. You will find and all-in-one package that includes a ballroom, luxurious resort, golf for you and your guests, and award-winning cuisine. The Sanctuary Hotel is a mansion-style resort providing guests with amenities unrivaled by most. You and your guests will be treated like royalty! And the resort can accommodate a wedding with as many as 350 guests. You can also check with the local churches, if you prefer to have your ceremony in one of them instead. With a bit of imagination, you can plan the wedding of your dreams.

The Honeymoon

In addition to being ranked the second most romantic beach, the island itself was rated the “Best Honeymoon Destination” by Brides magazine. So, while planning your destination wedding, you may want to consider this. If you and your guests are looking for a place to stay a week or so after the ceremony, Kiawah Island is a perfect choice.

Never Say Good-bye

Kiawah Island has much to offer the romantic soul. With beaches, beautiful sunrises, natural habitats for many indigenous animals, resorts and plenty of golf, you can’t choose a more naturally beautiful location. There may not be an amusement park or a lot of man-made diversions, but for the couple looking for something wonderful and simple, Kiawah will be a destination that’s hard to leave.

The wedding vows are the pinnacle of the entire wedding day. They are the most important part of the ceremony and many couples can feel a lot of pressure to make sure their vows are perfect. But for most brides and grooms, the idea of creating wedding vows can create instant sweaty palms and cold feet. But finding just the right words can be easier if you know where to look. Using some ingenuity, couples can find the perfect words in no time.

First Consider…

There are a couple of things you should consider before crafting your vows. You should consider what type of ceremony you are planning first. If you are planning a traditional wedding, then your vows are practically written for you. If you are having an open ceremony or a non-traditional one, you will have a lot of options to choose from. You simply want to make sure that your vows match up with your ceremony.

Finding the Words

Next, you might want to do a little research. You can search many wedding websites that will give you some ideas of some different vows. You can use these vows as is, or you can use them as a template to design your own words and make them uniquely yours. You can also go to some forums and ask other brides some tips that they use to create their words. You will find that brides love to share their thoughts and some are quite prolific and great with words. Using these forums and websites can be a huge asset in your planning. Next, sit down with your spouse-to-be and discuss what you really want to say to each other. Decide between the two of you and you will begin to see your vows develop, much easier than you first imagined.

The Little Extras

In addition to the actual vows, there are many more options you can choose to add to your ceremony. Many couples have their officiator or clergyman recite a poem or passage from the Bible during the ceremony. This can be a beautiful touch during your special event. When researching the wedding sites for vows, you will most likely come across some of these types of additions that you can peruse. If you are the romantic type, you may have something in mind already. Simply get a printed copy to discuss with your officiator before the ceremony. Most have no problem with reciting your additional material and can also have many ideas of poems and passages of their own.

Candle Lighting and More

Another exceptional addition to your ceremony is the traditional candle-lighting ceremony, signifying the coming together of two souls to create a single, whole soul. This part of the ceremony is a beautiful demonstration of a couple’s coming together as a family. Some choose not to include this in their ceremony, but if you want to add a little extra romance to your event, this is a perfect opportunity for you to do so. There are many variations on this ceremony that may suit you better that you may want to consider. There is a wine ceremony that is similar you can do. Again, researching online, you will find many variations to the candle ceremony that you might like better for you and your partner. The key is to decide on something that reflects both of you.

It’s Your Day

Your wedding is the biggest day of your life. You want to make sure you make it your own. The vows you and your future spouse create will be the most important part of your big day. These are the vows you make to your partner to live in harmony from this day forward. Your vows should express the feelings you have for each other, the love you share and they should be honest and sincere. Most important, they should be from you. If you follow these guidelines, your vows will be with you in your heart throughout your lives together.

It’s no secret that some of the very best beaches in North America are right in South Carolina. With so many beautiful locations to choose from, you will no problem choosing a beautiful destination. Myrtle Beach has long been a favorite for weddings and still offers many amenities to make your special day everything you envision.
If you look up Myrtle Beach, SC, you will find several websites that promote the “Grand Strand” and its many tourist attractions. After all, millions of Americans vacation there every year and the numbers seem to be on the rise still. Myrtle Beach stretches nearly 60 miles along the Atlantic coast, providing much to see, do and enjoy while frolicking on its decadent white sands. From entertainment, to food, to play, to relaxation, Myrtle Beach has all you could imagine. And if you want to plan a “family-friendly” wedding weekend, Myrtle Beach currently holds the title of America’s #1 Family Beach, which will guarantee all will be thrilled, from age two to 92.

The “I do’s”
Myrtle Beach is one of the most attractive beaches in North America. Its reputation for serenity has been earned over decades. When planning your wedding day, you want to make sure to contact a local planner to assist with the details. If you want to make sure you are privy to all the best deals and some hidden treasures, a local planner will be the key to gaining access. There are many small chapels nestled in the mossy trees along the coast where you can recite your vows. But if you want a beach wedding, you can’t find many better beaches than Myrtle Beach. The options are limitless. The more creative you are, the more Myrtle Beach and its local merchants can fulfill your dreams and desires.

Where to Stay
With so many resorts along the crescent, your only problem will be in the choosing. Myrtle Beach has a myriad of choices from small family-owned hotels, to huge resorts with all the luxuries built-in, to vacation rentals, away from the hustle and bustle. You can choose to be secluded or right in the midst of all the excitement. The choice is up to you. You can also pick from a huge selection of price ranges to make sure you stay within your wedding budget, as well. No matter what amenities you choose, you’re sure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere that is a natural part of all locations on this stretch of the South Carolina coast.

Anyone Hungry?
Myrtle Beach boasts an astounding 1700+ restaurants and eateries, including the Grand Strand. If you are craving something in particular, Myrtle Beach is sure to have it. Obviously, if you have a hankering for some fresh seafood, there are many locations to try like Captain George’s Seafood, The Bonefish Grill, or Sea Captain’s House. But why stop there? You will find Italian, German, Jewish, barbeque, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, variations of Asian, and, of course, plenty of American restaurants, as well. Also, for breakfast, you will find there are many restaurants that specialize in this fare. So, no matter what you’re in the mood for, you will surely have your hands full (of options) when trying to choose where to feed your (and your wedding guests) hunger.

Fore!

It’s certainly no secret that Myrtle Beach is home to some of the top ranked golf courses in America. With nearly 60 golf courses along the Strand, there will surely be open holes and tee times for everyone. Many of the courses allow kids to play for free, so it’s a great opportunity to involve the whole family in a half or whole day excursion to the course. South Carolina is well-known for its lush hills and sandy beaches and the courses are proud displays, flagships representing all that is beautiful and green about this part of the country.

So Much To Experience…

Myrtle Beach is full of exciting things to do. You can choose to see a show, play golf, get spa treatments, or just enjoy the beach. As far as destination weddings go, Myrtle Beach has been practicing for years and has developed a perfect combination of romance, entertainment and fun so that you and your guests are fulfilled on your special day and beyond.

You’ve been dreaming about your wedding since you were a little girl.

You’ve been dreaming about your wedding since you were a little girl. The dress you will be wearing was the focal point of all your daydreams and now it is time to make that dream come true. When it comes to choosing a bridal gown, remember to keep it personal. Consider your personality and style when you try on those dresses. Many brides have been wearing the strapless dress with no visible means of support. For some women this strapless dress works beautifully and for others it becomes a nightmare to just keep ‘the girls’ confined to that dress bodice. You really don’t want to be fighting your dress all day; tugging and stretching and taping things in place. You want to express yourself, feel gorgeous and not think twice about what would happen if that piece of tape lets go. Let’s consider the options according to your style and personality.

Classic: If you enjoy a sleek and elegant look over trendy, you may be a classic beauty. When it comes to lace and layers you know that more does not always mean better. The Classic bride doesn’t need layers of distraction, just one strong focal point; whether that is the neckline, the back view or a sash/cord at the waist. A simple, draping silk gown that flows over your sensuous curves will turn everyone’s head, especially the Groom’s!

Flirty: A new look for the wedding dress in 2009 is the one-shoulder neckline. This cures the problem of run-away cleavage and yet retains the sexy shoulder come-on. Styles come in many different options, but all feature that one, bare shoulder for him to kiss. Imagine the great photograph of his hand on that one, bare shoulder as he looks at his beautiful bride.

Romantic: You are the kind of girl who sprays perfume on your letters and you simply can’t imagine not wearing the big “Cinderella” dress as you enter your ceremony. You love the look of the princess dress with the skirt that gives the illusion of floating on air. Today’s bride will find that the organza, taffeta and chiffon fabrics are much lighter, softer and more comfortable than previous years. This dress does best where you will have plenty of room to maneuver around without concern of what your dress might bump into.

Creative: The traditional dress colors of white or ivory are giving way to color in 2009. This trend has been gaining speed over the past few years with colored trim or sash. Now this year is exploding with fun color options for the creative bride. Is your theme dramatic? Go ahead and wear a gown of midnight blue and gold embroidery, or perhaps an eggplant purple is more in-keeping with your theme. Color can also be a soft pink dress with complementing ivory roses on the bodice and skirt. It is still a good idea for the bride to wear a different color than her bridesmaids, but there is no limit to what you can do with color.

Once the serious business of the ceremony and vows has been taken care of there is the natural release of energy and need to celebrate!

Once the serious business of the ceremony and vows has been taken care of there is the natural release of energy and need to celebrate! Your wedding reception will follow the theme of the day and require some good planning on your part to ensure a wonderful experience for all.

If your theme was classic and elegant, then your reception would best be held in a stylish venue such as a hotel, resort or country club. Be sure to check out the resort option, as they can offer a unique setting with the same services as hotel ballrooms. Your reservation timing is crucial when deciding on these venues. Start making a list of questions to cover when talking to your prospect.

Available times/dates? Follow with, when will you be allowed in to decorate and set up? How long will your party be allowed to use the facility?

Full service package: What services are included in the rental fee and what is the payment policy? Be sure you are clear on who is going to set up the table and chairs for instance. Does the facility allow outside catering? Is there a refund policy? (tip from previous brides would be to never pay the full amount before the reception)

Guest Convenience: Are they covered with liability insurance? Do they have convenient bathroom facilities that accommodate children and handicapped guests? What about the parking facilities? This is an issue when you are in a city where streets are narrow and mostly one-way.

Outdoor weddings provide the natural setting for your reception with fewer restrictions on house rules and less concern over spilled punch. However, you do need to plan how you will provide comfortable seating and food presentation for your guests. Anything can be incorporated for seating guests: from white garden chairs, park benches to hay bales. Having a tropical beach theme wedding? This can be done with or with an actual ocean. Setting up picnic tables on the sand floor of your pole shed is a great option for the relaxed atmosphere of a beach reception. The trade off for the saved expense in renting a ballroom is that it will require more effort on your part to pull this off. Usually there are more than enough friends and family members who love to lend a helping hand, so that the party set up becomes an event unto itself.

One new trend in decorating for receptions is the use of bold color and lots of it. This does not necessarily have to follow the wedding color theme. Bolts of fabric rich in golds and earth colors can present a beautiful backdrop for any dinnerware. Mix and match dinnerware and goblets of different hues. As long they are in the same color family, it is all good.

Another trend that is almost the exact opposite of this bold and rich color idea is the “Zen harmony” theme. This makes use of relaxing, soft hues of pale greens, ivory and ocean blues. Rock gardens and waterfalls with pools of floating lilies help set the mood of a tranquil celebration. Soft light from candles set on trays of stone are the perfect accent

The Groom is your childhood buddy and you really want to give him a wedding gift that he will appreciate and remember. Monogram towels are definitely out. When faced with the task of choosing a wedding gift, think of the bridal couple’s personality. Here we go again with that “personality” word! Leave the discount store gift registry for Aunt Susie. Seriously, they are your friends, (family) so what are their hobbies and interests?

Do they enjoy reading? Maybe a beautiful collection of classics or a subscription to a Book of the Month Club would do the trick. Reading and music are both luxuries that most of us enjoy but feel guilty purchasing for ourselves. So do the bridal couple a favor and pick up that leather bound copy of “The Ring and the Book” by Robert Browning.

While we are on the subject, music is a great gift. I am not just talking CDs here boys. Think big and grab some concert tickets for their favorite band. Even better, collaborate with some friends and put together a Concert Gift Weekend. Book the hotel out of town and maybe supper gift certificates for the before concert meal. This could be so awesome! The couple will definitely remember your thoughtful gift!

Consider a strong, woven basket filled with vintage wine or Champaign. Maybe even choose a wine from the year of their birth and tuck in a little note: “Save this bottle for your first anniversary” and “this bottle for your tenth anniversary”. Finish with the challenge, “THIS bottle is for your Golden wedding anniversary! I hope I am invited to the party 50 years from now!”

Are they the outdoor type? How about ski lift tickets for Keystone or Breck? Maybe a couple’s sized tent, camping gear (which by the way, can be expensive for a couple to try purchase on their own). Pick up a trail map for a beautiful bike trail and tuck in a confirmation for a weekend’s stay at the lodge on the lake.

Maybe your friends are more of the “Take me to the Spa and make me your King” kind of people. No problem! Find a spa that will provide full body massage, manicure and pedicure service and maybe even some hairstyle makeover. They can both enjoy feeling pampered without the guilt.

If you have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, you are really missing out on one of the best kept secrets to a happy relationship. It is easy to find B & Bs and arrange for a one night romp or a weekend get-away. Bed and Breakfasts provide unique history served with delicious food that can’t be duplicated by chain restaurants. Be sure to provide the B & B brochure with your gift to help them anticipate their stay.

Or you could just wrap up her favorite candy, a box of crackers, pack of cheese, his favorite beer and two pairs of socks. Tell them these are the ONLY required items for a really great weekend, and you expect a full report on Monday.
